Education system
Institution type, admission route and programme language are separate checks.
Germany includes universities, universities of applied sciences and other recognised higher-education providers. Admission, language, aptitude and qualification-recognition requirements can differ by institution, programme and applicant background.
Bachelor’s study
Undergraduate admission depends on whether the previous school qualification is recognised for direct entry. A preparatory route or additional evidence may be required.
Master’s study
Master’s programmes commonly assess subject fit, prior credits, grades and language evidence. Requirements can be programme-specific even within the same institution.
Research and doctoral study
Doctoral routes may be individual or structured and require suitable supervision, research fit and separate academic approval.
Preparatory study
Studienkolleg, language preparation and other bridging routes should be checked for entry conditions, assessment, progression and the institutions that recognise them.
